Hebrews 13:8 - Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever.
James 1:17 - Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
Every year my son and I take a trip to Ohio to bow hunt the rut on some family farm land. Normally the weather is predictable, with a north to north west wind, highs in the mid 40's and lows in the low 30's. With this weather and wind we can generally have a good and successful hunt with the stand placements that we have used for so many years, but this year was different. It was unusually warm temperatures with the average in the low 70's and the wind out of the east or the south. I would be ok with this if I was back home in central Florida, but not Ohio.
This trip and its changes reminded me of how faithful our God is and that He never changes. Our lives can be full of uncertainties, and they may shake you or even move you, but God does not move. He never changes! The storms of life can continually change, but God remains the same! He is consistent and reliable! It can be so easy for man-kind to put our trust and hope in something or someone else, but we need to allow God to be our anchor. Anchor your hope, your trust, and your faith in Him, for He cannot be moved.
Psalm 62:1, 2, & 8 says: Truly my soul waitheth upon God: from Him cometh my salvation. He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved. Trust in Him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us.
Gods words are forever sure and true. This is our God in whom we can trust!

You Will be Filled
Matthew 5:6- "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.”
As I sit in the hills of Cohutta Ga this morning watching the sun rise, I am reminded of how beautiful God's creation is. So many times we get wrapped up in our day to day routine that we fail to stop and take the time to just admire how majestic and wonderful our God is. We move at warp speed through our day just to get to the end of it just to get ready to do it all over again tomorrow. We are moving at such a fast pace that we often times don't slow down to fellowship with our Creator.
Jesus said ”Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.” I encourage you to take time early in the morning before you eat breakfast and start your daily quest for satisfaction, to go outside before the sun rises and find a quiet spot and hunger for the Lord. You will quickly find that he is sufficient.
You will be filled.

Knowledge of the Hunt and of Life
James 1:22-23 "But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:"
Matthew 5:16 "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."
At the start of archery season, I unpack all my gear that I usually use on a regular basis during early bow season. I always re-wash all my warm weather camo, make sure I have plenty of scent killer, all my arrows are refletched and flying true, knives are sharpened, etc….
The same goes for God’s Word. It’s like knowing God's word but never applying it to our lives on a daily basis. What good is having the knowledge and wisdom of God's Word and it never being seen in our lives? What good is having the head-knowledge and not the heart knowledge? My prayer is that we all would take the knowledge and wisdom of God's Word and apply it to our lives, that it may be seen by others. Let God shine His light on you today! Let God use you today by being doers of the word, not just hearers.

We as hunters know all that needs to be done before season begins and even while season is in. Take the hunt for example, we know to always hunt the wind in every situation we can; we know to try our hardest to be scent free as much as possible and always have the confidence in all our gear. When that whitetail comes into range and your sitting in your tree stand or ground blind and your bow is in your hand, your brain goes into overdrive and all your pre-season preparation comes into play. For instance, you know that when you draw your bow back, you must anchor in the same spot everytime. You know that if the deer is 20 yards away, you don’t use your 30 yard pin. You have all the head knowledge, you have practiced it all year and are now ready to put it to use. The knowledge does you no good if you don’t apply it to your hunt.
The same goes for God’s Word. It’s like knowing God's word but never applying it to our lives on a daily basis. What good is having the knowledge and wisdom of God's Word and it never being seen in our lives? What good is having the head-knowledge and not the heart knowledge?
